Do You Remember this guy?

Let me introduce you to high school Erik. Some of you might remember high school Erik. For others, this may be your first encounter. (Look at him smirking at me.)

High School Erik is, well frankly kind of difficult. He has a one track mind - and it is not a normal track. High school Erik loves a place called the BDAC. {pronounced BEEE DACK} He also loves his 1970 something black Transam. Waiting for the list to lengthen? It doesn't. Now, there might be a few incidentals thrown in there like his mother and his religion, but that's it for High School Erik.

Now there are 2 things that you NEVER do to High School Erik: Never talk to him while he is working out, unless you are going to tell him how great he is, and NEVER touch his food. I personally know someone who nearly lost a hand for once asking for some of his yogurt.

High school Erik did NOT date and went out with friends only if he felt like it. You would think people would have long given up on trying to hang out with him, but it only made people want him more. Case in point, me. Needless to say, here we are, happily married with three kids. He has mellowed considerably and even has most of his old friends back. How did this happen? I had to help Erik forget about the life he had once known. His beloved BDAC, gone. Eating tuna right out of the can, gone. staying in his room listening to Iron Maiden, still here but we can deal with it.
It took me MANY years to conform Erik's soul to the evils of Big Gulp's, Twinkies , and dinners of Macaroni and Cheese, but things were going ok. Sure, diabetes was lurking in the shadows, but he was drugged up and willing to live life the way I wanted.

Then the Big Meltdown took hold of him. I thought it would only last a few weeks as it did last year, but the old Erik is re-emerging.
I should be happy for him, but how am I suppose to live alone in my misery? He has even re discovered what is left of the BDAC, a place that is dead to me. And after many happy years of a tunaless home, he has started demanding it once more. Damn you healthy lifestyle. Why can't you just leave us alone?
